That bad blood between the Australian and Indian teams continues to exist was evident when Harbhajan Singh set out to bat in India’s poor performance at the Adelaide Oval here on Sunday. First, the crowd greeted him with the now-customary boos as he set his foot on the ground. Then, as he neared the wicket, the Australian captain, charged up after his bowlers had broken India’s back, said something the television cameras did not pick. It certainly did not seem welcome going by Ponting body language.
Ponting again gave Bhajji some advice when the batsman got out, prompting the Punjab player to stop in his tracks and shoot an aggressive glance at the Aussie. After the match, Harbhajan was seen exchanging ‘pleasantries’ with Ponting as the players shook hands at the pavilion.
