Baywatch to be turned into big screen comedy

Baywatch, the TV show which launched the careers of Pamela Anderson and Carmen Electra, will be adapted into a comedy film.
The classic TV show, about lifeguards who patrol a beach in California will make a comeback as a comedy, directed by Jeremy Garelick, who scripted The Break-Up starring Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn, reported Daily Mail online.
It is not known whether the original cast will be a part of the project, but the film will revolve around two unlikely lifeguard candidates trying to catch up with the glamorous group of lifeguards.
"It felt like the template to do a movie that was similar to Stripes and Police Academy, the comedies I loved growing up. Rather than trying to pitch the tone, I figured it would be easier to write the first act to convey who these characters were," said Garelick.
