A sensational 133-ball 138 by Sachin Tendulkar powered India to 319-5 in the final of the Compaq Cup against Sri Lanka on Monday.
The master batsmen plundered 10 fours and one six in his 44th ODI hundred that ended in the 46th over.
Tendulkar's marathon knock was accompanied by stellar half-centuries by MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh.
The Indian batting that had struggled to get partnerships going in the previous two games, stitched three big stands to set Sri Lanka a massive challenge.
Tendulkar was also well supported by Rahul Dravid (39) in a 95-run opening stand.
After Dravid perished to Sanath Jauasuriya in the 18th over, Indian skipper MS Dhoni, who had the fortune of winning the crucial toss, joined the Tendulkar to weave a 110-run stand.
Dhoni clobbered three fours in his 62-run knock, which was put to an end by Lasith Malinga when the Indian captain tried to up the ante in the batting powerplay.
In the death overs, India was powered by a brutal knock by an unbeaten 56 from Yuvraj Singh. The southpaw hit six boundaries and one six to reach his 41st ODI fifty. Tendulkar too unleashed an array of shots that included two consecutive boundaries of Ajantha Mendis before falling leg-before to him.
Virat Kohli, who replaced Dinesh Karthik, was not out on two off as many balls.
The hosts without their star spinner Muttiah Muralitharan, hope to win the game to take revenge of their previous two bilateral series loss to India in limited overs. Ajantha Mendis has got a game in place of Muralitharan.
